In a statement, the board of the island’s financial services marketing agency said it was ‘taking recent events extremely seriously’.
It added it was ‘working closely with relevant stakeholders’ and had made deputy chief executive Barnaby Molloy its acting CEO.
The incidents are alleged to involve a video or audio from a Teams meeting which was inadvertently shared. It has allegedly been claimed that it was the result of a data breach from the organisation.
Mr Pleasant was removed from the agency’s website yesterday afternoon and his LinkedIn profile has been deleted.
He had headed the agency, which is part-funded by the taxpayer and by a levy on licensed financial services businesses, since 2020. It employs some 25 people.
Mr Pleasant was awarded the Freedom of the City of London last year and also met King Charles on his visit to the island when Guernsey Finance was involved in a presentation on sustainable finance during the King’s visit to the island.
