The bright yellow car, which has been converted by marine ambulance volunteers, is due to leave the Old Lifeboat Slipway, near the Model Yacht Pond on Castle Emplacement, at around 9.30am, bound for Maseline Harbour.
The crossing is again dependent on the weather, with Sunday set aside as a reserve date.
The car had been due to make a first leg to Herm last Friday, but that crossing was postponed because of the conditions and will be rescheduled in the coming weeks.
The challenge is being undertaken by the same two volunteers who completed a similar feat 34 years ago, and is raising money to keep the Flying Christine III marine ambulance maintained and operational. The vessel provides a lifeline service, carrying paramedics to the other islands of the Bailiwick and bringing the sick and injured to Guernsey for further care.
‘We are very excited and eager to go,’ said organiser Gary Ward, who was part of the team more than 30 years ago.
‘We were a little disappointed to postpone the Herm leg last week, but safety has to be the top priority.’
Crewmate Paul Philips added: ‘Fundraising has been going well, but with a date now set we really ask people to dig deep and support us.
'There’s been a lot of work, all undertaken by volunteers.’
