Guernsey Retail Group’s annual December contest sees shops around the island decorate their windows with the hopes of winning trophies for best themed facade in Town, and another for retailers elsewhere in the island.
‘The event has become a popular tradition for retailers who battle it out for the top prize and it also offers a great incentive for them to really go all out with their designs,’ said Victoria Taylor Beard, director of the Guernsey Retail Group.
‘As we have seen each year, the entries were of an exceptionally high standard. Adventure Cycles captivated passers-by with a magical shopfront that was particularly impressive at night.
‘Meanwhile, Health Connections’ design team did an amazing job with their festive, classy and nostalgic feel.
‘We hope shops will have seen an increase in footfall and that the competition has encouraged islanders to buy locally.’
The winners were selected by independent judges Ava Inder from Art for Guernsey, and the BBC’s Steph Watkins.
Commendations were given to various Creasey’s stores, as well as St Peter Port retailer Wink for originality, while the Vape Bar was praised for its fun use of corks and materials. Out of town, Bijoux in the Rohais and Forest Road Garage, last year’s winners, were praised for creativity.
