A business run by cyclists for cyclists, Adventure Cycles has everything you could possibly need, from the first balance bike for a child, to an alternative transport solution for the work commute by electric bicycle, or an electric cargo bike to carry the kids on the school run.
In its St Martin’s store there is a comprehensive range of bicycles from Benno, Bergamont, Genesis, Marin, Moustache, Ridgeback, Scott and Tern.
It’s not only bicycles that the shop sells but also a great range of clothing from Madison for all your commuting and mountain biking needs as well as a great stock of accessories from helmets to pannier bags, grips to pedals, but also much more to browse through or speak to one of the sales team for advice on what will work best for you.
Over in the workshop they are well-stocked with replacement parts to keep your pride and joy running. The workshop is also staffed by qualified mechanics to give advice or to book your bicycle in for repair.
There are three service packages available for you to choose from. From the basic service for a quick tune-up for summer family rides to the full strip-down for the road or mountain-bike enthusiast before the upcoming summer season, Adventure Cycles can make sure your bike is in sound condition.
For the ever-popular electric bikes on the island, the team is able to carry out diagnostic fault checking on Bosch, Shimano, Fazua and Mahle systems. Along with a full service of the bikes to make sure they are road-worthy and safe.
Dan, Sam and the team are fully involved in the local cycling community and work hard to enhance the local cycling environment, whether it be through volunteering on the committee for local cycling groups such as Guernsey Bicycle Group, Guernsey Mountain Bike Association and Guernsey Velo Club or their sponsorship and organisation of local cycling events such as the MTB Tour of Guernsey or their unwavering support of the Pumptrack Project.
The Adventure Cycles team is also committed to its annual tree planting initiative, where it plants one tree for every e-bike sold – so far planting more than 1,500 trees. They are also proud supporters of the Eleanor Foundation’s Bikes to Africa project, where they give up their time to prepare and load unwanted bikes locally for a new life in Africa.
Visit the team in their Grande Rue shop in the heart of St Martin’s, which has plenty of parking. For more information call 232855 or email sales@adventurecycles.net.
The Confederation of Guernsey Industry (CGi) has championed the island’s grassroots industries — particularly those operating outside the finance sector for 30 years.
The CGi represents a wide range of non-finance businesses, from sole traders to multinational companies, reflecting the diversity and resilience of our broader economy.
Many of these work behind the scenes, making vital contributions that often go unnoticed. This series of articles shines a light on these unsung heroes of the non-finance sector and raises awareness of the important role they play.
