The festival – which has now been going for six years – will now be known as Sure Presents Guernsey Together Festival, taking place on Saturday 13 June as a one-day event bringing top cover and tribute acts to the island while putting the spotlight firmly on Guernsey talent.
Organiser Alex Lock said the new multi-year partnership with the telecoms and IT provider has helped to secure the event’s future.
‘It’s nice to have a multi-year contract,’ he said. ‘It will help ensure we are around for the next six years.’
The programme is built to give local bands, disc jockeys, solo artists, food traders and independent traders a high-profile platform to perform, trade and connect with a crowd of around 4,000.
‘It started as a post-lockdown party essentially – a chance for musicians and food traders to get back out there,’ said Mr Lock.
‘It’s grown, so we will see where it goes in the next few years.’
This year there will be a few additions to the line-up which is set to be announced next week. Sure will be on-site on the day with an activation space and will also be supporting a charity initiative through the festival’s reusable cup scheme – the company will donate money raised from the sale of reusable cups to a charity of its choice.
‘Guernsey Together Festival is a highlight in the island’s entertainment calendar, with live music and a fun, family-friendly atmosphere that everyone can enjoy. It’s a fantastic way for the community to come together and create unforgettable moments,’ said Sure chief commercial officer Simon Baldwin.
‘We’re looking forward to playing a key part in the festival and working with the organisers to make this year’s celebration truly memorable.’
Tickets for the festival go on sale on Thursday 26 February.
