The acquisition combines two local businesses with the aim of strengthening Cherry Godfrey’s offering across finance, insurance, mortgages and now property services.
‘Property has long been a natural extension of what we already do at Cherry Godfrey Group,’ said chief operating officer Tanzy Cherry.
‘We support people through financing, insuring and protecting their homes, so this next step makes complete sense.
‘Mawson Collins is a business we greatly respect, with strong values, a talented team and an excellent local reputation.
‘Bringing the two businesses together allows us to deliver our plans for Cherry Godfrey Property in a way that is established, credible and firmly rooted in Guernsey.’
Mawson Collins will continue to operate from its existing offices, now as Cherry Godfrey Property, with the same team and leadership in place.
There will be no disruption to clients, services or ongoing work, and existing relationships will remain unchanged.
Mike Collins, former managing director at Mawson Collins and now group director of property at Cherry Godfrey, said it was a very positive step for the business.
‘Becoming part of Cherry Godfrey Group gives us additional backing and support, while allowing us to continue operating as we do today,’ he said.
‘Our clients will continue to work with the same people, from the same offices, with the same level of service they expect from us.
‘We see this as an exciting opportunity to strengthen the business for the long term.’
As part of this next phase, Cherry Godfrey Group will continue to invest in its people and capability, creating opportunities to grow the team and business in Guernsey.
