Doing it all in yellow for Cystic Fibrosis Trust

Stepping Stones Pre-school pupils all wore yellow this week to mark Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Week in support of four-year-old Martha Ogier.

Martha, who attends the pre-school, has cystic fibrosis and to mark the week Stepping Stones is raising awareness and money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust by dressing in yellow clothes and selling yellow and lemon-scented playdough made by the children.

‘We’re doing stuff all week as we have so many children who are all here on different days so we wanted to do something to keep everyone involved,’ said pre-school manager Jemma Wilson.

‘We’re doing a lot of yellow arts and crafts as well this week and have got as many yellow toys as we could find out.’

Martha’s mother, Sarah Ogier, believes her daughter is the youngest person with cystic fibrosis in Guernsey, with the next youngest she knows of being 14.

‘It’s really nice to see them showing support for Martha,’ she said.

‘My midwifery colleagues, who are on a study day on Friday, will be wearing yellow then too as it is quite difficult for us to do that on the ward.

‘One of Martha’s other friends is at Little Bears nursery and I have been told they are wearing yellow this week too.’
