The family event runs from 10am to 4.30pm, with the apron fenced off from the working airport so that the public can walk airside to the hangar and see the aircraft up close.
The aircraft line-up is set to include a kit-built Eurofox, a home-built Van’s RV-7, a Bell 505X helicopter, a corporate aircraft and the 60-year-old Beagle Pup prototype, with some owners on hand to talk to visitors and let them sit inside.
Also on show will be the Channel Islands Air Search Islander and its crews, the popular Junior Joey, and Guernsey Flying Training’s Piper Warrior, instructors and flight simulator.
In the car parks, the Wheels section brings together supercars, vintage and classic cars, rally and racing cars, military vehicles, tractors and a range of new and classic motorbikes.
The Guernsey Model Club will be in the hangar with a variety of model aircraft, taxiing demonstrations on the apron and a planned drone display, alongside pop-up busking around the site and die-cast and model displays in the club building.
The club’s first-floor room and balcony offer views along the length of the runway and taxiways for anyone wanting to watch the aircraft movements.
Refreshments will be served all day, with a lunchtime barbecue, teas, coffees and homemade cakes on the first floor, an open bar, and Le Hechet Farm ice-creams in the car park.
A raffle with special prizes will also be held, and the event is sponsored by Vega Technology.
Entry costs £2 per person, or £1 for a small child walking, and is free for children in prams or pushchairs. Parking is £1 a car at the Forest and Le Rondin schools, a short walk away, with the money going to the schools.
