Applications opened yesterday and close on 30 November, after which successful applicants will be announced in January ahead of the walk on Saturday 12 June.
More than 1,000 walkers took part in this year’s walk, raising more than £100,000 for local causes.
This year’s beneficiaries included Autism Guernsey, which received a portable sensory gazebo, and Wheels for You, which received an adapted tricycle.
The Guernsey Bereavement Service was given a copper memory tree, while the Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation received boxes of essentials and keepsakes for families.
‘We are not looking for the biggest names or the slickest forms.
‘We are looking for a clear project, something we can point to afterwards and say that the walk helped make that happen,’ said charity co-ordinator Jannine Birtwistle.
‘Every single application we receive is carefully considered.’
She said that thanks to the sponsors, every penny walkers raised was available to local causes, which was ‘a rare thing’.
Saffery Trust, which is approaching its 11th year as main sponsor, covers the cost of staging the event and has extended its commitment until 2029.
Applications are open to Bailiwick charities and non-profit organisations on the Guernsey Charities Register whose work benefits the local community. Funding is awarded to identifiable, achievable projects with clear, measurable outcomes.
Full details and the online application form are at safferyrotarywalk.org.gg.
Paper forms can be downloaded from the website or collected from Saffery Trust’s offices at La Tonnelle House, Les Banques.
The walk is organised by the Rotary Club of Guernsey and Rotary Guernesiais. Its 39-mile coastal route takes participants around the island in a single day, with options including the full solo walk, relay teams of four to seven, and a family walk.
