I am incredibly proud of the progress we have made this year in strengthening our business community, championing our members and raising the profile of business on the island.
It has been a year defined by engagement, collaboration and momentum – all focused on ensuring Guernsey remains a great place to live, work and do business.
A major priority for us in 2025 was driving thought leadership and insight. We committed to creating space for meaningful conversations on the issues that matter most to local businesses. Through events, workshops, working groups and practical resources, we tackled topics such as productivity, innovation and sustainability, helping businesses not just to react to change, but to shape it.
And we helped our members drive change through policy engagement, with a general election taking place slap bang in the middle of the year the perfect opportunity to talk about the big issues. The formation of the G8 and the development of the Voice of Guernsey Business report ensured that decision-makers and election candidates heard directly from the business community on key priorities. From tax reform and housing to skills, workforce challenges and connectivity, we brought government and business into the same room – because better decisions are made when business voices are properly heard.
Helping our members build new links and seize opportunities beyond our shores was another highlight. We supported businesses in looking outward, including exploring France as a freight option, and hosted trade delegations to St Malo with a specific focus on construction and local food businesses. Strengthening these commercial relationships is about building resilience and opening doors for future growth.
One of the most exciting milestones of the year was celebrating Camp de Reves becoming the first Guernsey recipient of The King’s Award for Enterprise, in the Sustainable Development category. This prestigious honour shone a spotlight on the innovation, sustainability and entrepreneurial excellence that exists right here in our community. We were proud to support Camp de Reves on their journey and next year we’ll be encouraging more local businesses to step forward as we know we have many others who are worthy of this recognition.
Events remain at the heart of Chamber. From our Chamber lunches and Grow My SME sessions to informal industry meet-ups and our flagship Gala Dinner, we brought people together to connect, learn and celebrate. The Gala Dinner, themed The Rest Is Business and featuring the fabulous Steph McGovern as keynote speaker, was a standout moment of the year.
So as we look ahead to 2026, I am genuinely excited by the momentum we have built. At Chamber, our role is simple: we give businesses a voice, we help them grow, and we bring people together. Membership gives influence, visibility and commercial opportunity – and this is the place to be seen, to be heard, and to do business.
I would like to thank every member, sponsor and partner who has contributed to this year’s success. Your engagement and collaboration are what make the Guernsey Chamber of Commerce so impactful.
