Siam Cup proposals are 'disrespectful'
JORDAN REYNOLDS believes that weakening Jersey's line-up in the Siam Cup would be disrespectful of both the competition and their Guernsey opposition.
Under new rules proposed across the water, Jersey would field only locally-born players and professionals who have played for the Jersey Rugby Club for at least three full seasons.
It is seen as a way of levelling the playing field, with Jersey's fully professional team now playing in the Championship, three leagues above the Guernsey Rugby Club.
However, GRFC head coach Reynolds is not a fan of the idea whatsoever.
He says that five successive years of Jersey success shouldn't lead to such a dramatic response.
'The rules don't need to change. They should keep things as they are and so, if it does happen, then I will really be against the idea,' he said.
