The new Priaulx makes his mark
SEB PRIAULX has the ability to 'go all the way', according to Dave Hockaday, after the youngster secured the junior max karting summer championship title.
It is a case of like father, like son for 13-year-old Priaulx, with the son of local sporting great Andy starting to make a name for himself now for his own racing talent.
His dad won four world championship titles in a glittering touring cars career and Hockaday, who is the local karting captain, says there are echoes of that skill in young Seb's driving.
'Obviously it depends on a lot of different factors, but Seb could go all the way and has a brilliant future ahead of him in motorsport,' explained Hockaday.
'Seb is a smooth driver and that is his main strength because whereas you see a lot of the youngsters throwing their kart around the track, he isn't like that and he won't make mistakes.
'He has maturity beyond his years and for the age he is, Seb is as good as anything I have seen coming through for a number of years and he is a fantastic young lad, too.'
Going into the final round of the championship with a 24-point lead over nearest rival Cameron Robert, the final margin ended up as 41 points in favour of Priaulx.
