The 26-year-old Sarnian was unable to repeat his heroics of the round-robin stage where he was the only player to inflict defeat on Iain McLean as he lost a tight semi-final to the Scotland star 6-10, 11-6, 4-0 in New South Wales.
However, there is no doubt Priaulx, who leaves with a bronze medal for his outstanding efforts, has raised eyebrows down under, where, after beating Scotland's hitherto unbeaten McLean and Kiwi star Ali Forsyth to clinch his place in the semi-finals, he is no longer regarded as an 'outsider'.
