HEATHER WATSON eased through her rain-delayed first round match at the Rogers Cup in Toronto last night.

The British No. 1 beat fellow qualifier Irina Falconi 6-1, 6-2 in just over an hour.
Watson will now face 16th seed Andrea Petkovic after the German came through a tough match with home wild card Francoise Abanda in three sets.
The winner of that contest will face Serena Williams.
