Drawing his side level at Carshalton Athletic moments before half-time, that proved to be the highlight for the Green Lions as they fell to a harsh 4-1 defeat.
It was their first defeat in seven and it means that they remain eighth in the table, but still with games in hand on many of those teams above them.
Despite what proved to be a heavy reverse due to Tommy Bradford's hat-trick, GFC manager Tony Vance was not too despondent about his side's efforts on a day where another new Lion made his bow, namely Jacob Fallaize.
'It was probably a game too far for us to be fair with two tough away games within three days, but it was still a performance with plenty of positives to take from it,' he said.
