A fit, well drilled, efficient and ruthless side, the visitors showed no signs of panic after falling behind early on as their hosts made a bright start and despite Guernsey fighting to the end, the 5-2 scoreline did not flatter the victors.
‘They had a lot of good, experienced players who knew what they were doing and, being the Army, they were fit,’ said Guernsey coach David Wray.
‘A lot of teams we have played in this competition have played on the Saturday before they come over and they tire a bit, but they didn’t.
‘They were all really composed on the ball and that gave them a good platform. They were all well drilled and knew what their job was.’
Bianca Symes had given Guernsey the lead on 3min. but by half-time the Armed Forces were 2-1 ahead.
They added a further three to their tally in the second half before captain Laura Webber scored a late consolation for the home side.
