Seb returns to GT racing
SEB PRIAULX is making the shift to racing for Ford Performance in 2025.
After leaving AO Racing midway through a very promising IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship campaign, which his team went on to win, the Guernsey driver’s new direction for the coming season has been unveiled.
Although he will still be in the same championship, he will be driving the No. 64 Ford Mustang GT3 with Ben Barker and Mike Rockenfeller.
The 23-year-old is ‘super excited’ about the move.
‘Multimatic Motorsports has been my home since Larry [Holt] gave me a chance, so it’s nice to be back where I started in GT racing,’ he said.
‘I have experience competing in this championship, and I think we’ll bring a strong package into this upcoming year.’
Priaulx has already had his first run-out with Ford, featuring in the IMSA’s pre-season testing at Daytona over the weekend.
The team will have two factory-supported Mustangs in the championship, with Christopher Mies, Frederic Vervisch and Dennis Olsen featuring in their No. 65 drive.
The global director of Ford Performance Motorsports, Mark Rushbrook, praised this ‘blend of experience, youth and exceptional talent.’
‘I’m excited about this driver line-up. It is a fast line-up that will allow us to build on our performance in 2024, and I look forward to seeing what this team will accomplish in the coming season.’
The season just gone, the No. 64 Ford had finished sixth in their maiden GTD Pro campaign, hitting their best results near the end of the season with two consecutive runner-up placings.
The official 2025 championship begins with the Rolex 24 at Daytona, running between 25 and 26 January.
