They will play Sylvans, who have impressed so far in the cup with two wins from two against North and Rangers.

‘I went to watch them play last weekend against North and they were really good, so it will be a tough game, but as I’ve said that’s what we want,’ said U18s manager Leon Meakin.

‘I’m really happy with the way we are going and it’s something we are looking to build on over the next 10 weeks.’

As it stands the U18s are level on points with North, but are above them in the table on goal difference.

North are also due to be in action tonight against Rangers at Northfield.

‘Qualification is still possible, but we know how good Sylvans have been and North are on the same points as us and they have been really good as well, so at the end of the game we will see where that takes us,’ said Meakin.

‘I think we just have to focus on ourselves and focus on winning the game.’

Sylvans will be looking to continue their run of good form in the cup. At the top of Group A, they have scored 10 goals in their two games, putting six goals past Rangers and then beating North 4-1 last weekend.

‘I think it will be a good close game, a few of our U18s are in there, so yes hopefully it’ll be a good game,’ said Sylvans assistant coach Martyn De Garis, who is taking the reins in Jon Collenette’s absence.

‘The two games we have played we did well in – the 6-0 against Rangers, that came off the back of being beaten by them 1-0 in the league, so we sat down with the lads and worked out a couple of issues, and it looks like we are starting to get our form back.’

• Island Under 18s v Sylvans will kick off at 7.45pm tonight on the KGV 3G. North are due to face Rangers at Northfield tonight at 7.30pm, but that is subject to change. Tomorrow’s Group B clashes – Rovers v St Martin’s and Vale Rec v Bels – have been postponed due to waterlogged pitches.
