He is one of 14 players named by the Greens, with three U19s also included following this week’s U19 World Cup qualifier.

‘We’ve enjoyed having him around the group over the last few weeks and his strong domestic form over a long period has merited his inclusion,’ said team manager Rob Thomson.

‘Ed Robinson is also included in recognition of the strides he continues to make, particularly in the longer format.’

Robinson joins bowlers Charlie Forshaw and Harry Johnson in the 14, fresh from helping Guernsey to a brilliant four-wicket victory over Jersey at the age-group tournament in Scotland.

‘With the ball, we have a young bowling attack, but every player is there on merit. Luke Bichard spearheads the seamers which includes Charlie [Forshaw] who has skippered the Under-19s well in Scotland this week and has been one of the more consistent bowlers,’ said Thomson.

‘Harry [Johnson] continues to bowl sharply as well. We also have the luxury of a variety of spinners if the pitch looks like it will take some turn.’

As well as the match action, which gets underway at 10.30am, there will be a live DJ, charity competitions and speed gun challenge to keep spectators entertained.

Having broken Jersey’s winning streak in T20 cricket in the last two summers, the Greens are looking to secure a first 50-over triumph over their rivals since 2015.

‘We hope the cricketing community will come out in force to support us and create an intimidating inter-insular atmosphere and help see the lads over the line on the day.’
