Manager Tony Vance said that another win on the run into Christmas was massive for his side, who he admitted have thrown away too many points this season.
‘We’ve got to keep winning. We’ve dropped too many points in my opinion, we’ve been vulnerable at times in terms of the squad composition.
‘We’ve got a good group now and while we’ve got four or five defenders out who would normally be influential in this group we’re still pretty consistent in the squads we’re putting out and that’s three games in a row that we’ve won, all kind of different performances and different game,’ he said.
Vance said he was pleased with his side’s comprehensive win.
‘I think we deserved it. We nullified their threat a little bit, certainly in transition and we’re obviously going to be a team that’s going to go for other teams at home.
'They put themselves into position so that when they won the ball they would be a threat and we had to be wary of that,’ he said.
‘At times we were a little bit too gung-ho and so we addressed that, but it’s sort of a red or black situation, pushing to score a goal, but also be wary of that on that transitional situation. So we took a view that we had to ensure that we wouldn’t concede because they had a chance and Josh made a good save and another one where we were a bit loose, but in saying that, at the other end, we were looking like we were going to score.
‘I think once we got that first goal, it was a question of, “right, let’s see this through half-time, get it sorted, and then we could be comfortable”, and I thought we were, second half.’
Goals came from Ben Solway, Ross Allen, Will Fazakerley and man-of-the-match Jacob Fallaize.
‘We’re trying to score a lot of goals, I think people can see that and getting more and more goalscorers, like Jacob, for example, he’s the centre-half and he’s scoring a lot of goals.
‘It’s not just Ross Allen for once, which is great – I know that while he likes to score, he likes to see everyone else contribute,’ said Vance.
‘The way we’re playing, ultimately the way we’re trying to progress up the pitch and create chances, anyone can score and get on the end of it, and I think we’re seeing that.’
