In the Grand Fort Road derby at Northfield, leaders North saw off the stubborn resistance of Vale Rec 2-0 thanks to a goal in either half.

Keene Domaille gave the chocolate-and-blues the lead in the 18th when he was left unmarked to turn in Ryan Lamb’s cross from the left.

However, Charlie Le Prevost’s side did not make the game safe until four minutes from time when two substitutes combined to double their advantage as Seb Mourant’s inviting ball whipped into the box was volleyed home by Paris Pereira.

Meanwhile, St Martin’s were 3-2 winners against Rovers in the clash of second against third at Blanche Pierre Lane.

All the goals came in the first half with Isaac Eyton-Jones, George Goubert and Alex Roussel on target for Saints while Luke Ogier and Charlie Platt replied for the visitors.

North remain three points ahead of Saints at the top of the table.
