He is part of an MCC side who will take on Jersey in back-to-back T20 matches at Lord’s.
While the fixtures reflect a long-standing relationship between the two sides, they are also part of Jersey’s preparations for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub-Regional Europe Qualifier next month, when Nightingale will lead Guernsey in the same tournament.
Jersey narrowly missed out on a place at this year’s T20 World Cup after coming third in their five-team qualifying tournament alongside the Greens in the Netherlands last summer.
The Sarnians continue their build-up to next month’s event, which is being staged in Cyprus, by facing Essex Academy in four T20s at the KGV this weekend.
That series starts on Friday with a game at 4.30pm followed by a double-header on Saturday, 11am and 3pm starts, before the concluding contest on Sunday at 10am.
Guernsey hace already come up against two county academies this month, taking plenty of positives from the visits of Surrey and Hampshire last weekend.
