The former Island champion made it back-to-back Guernsey Press Elite Men’s Foursomes Championship titles on Thursday as he followed up last year’s success alongside Stuart Wallbridge by joining forces with Danny Bisson to retain the silverware for another year.
‘A good trade in,’ joked Mitchell after he and Bisson had just edged out pro-am combination Ronnie Casey and Sam Le Huray 1 up in an entertaining final that had plenty of highlights in the L’Ancresse gloom.
‘Not a bad swap, to be fair – good quality golfer, very trusted,’ added the defending champion, who turned to another of his L’Ancresse clubmates with Wallbridge unavailable this time around.
‘Yeah, it wasn’t a breeze today, but generally all week playing with someone like Dan, golf’s easy.’
