The department said it had considered the Good Governance Institute Report and its nine recommendations in full and the action plan was approved by board members at its meeting on 6 April.
Recommendations included establishing a clear process of open public engagement and dialogue, strengthening procedures for responding to a serious incident relating to patient safety or health-related issues and that a schedule of standards of
evidence should be formally adopted. The ninth recommendation, regarding the recruitment of a senior operating officer, has been forwarded to the States chief executive for consideration, the department said.
The board also agreed the action plan would be supported by a process of open public engagement and dialogue.
