Nest Webcams was set up by Richard Bird about seven years ago.
He started recording hits to the site only in July 2011 and has been astonished by how successful it has become.
'I never ever expected it to get this, from what started out as a glorified hobby, now having two million hits,' he said.
'When we started, we used to get around 200 hits a day but now we have around 1,000 in the winter and 2,000 in the summer.
'It is just staggering and it also helps to promote the island.'
Mr Bird started off by putting a camera at the QEII Marina to enable owners to keep an eye on their boats.
But he soon began to add more and now has around 21 installed permanently, including in Alderney, Sark and Jersey, as well as three that he puts up at different events, including hill climbs, local gigs and Liberation Day.
