Black Friday sees 9% rise in parcels

AN EXTENDED range of Black Friday offers led to Guernsey Post delivering 56,000 parcels last week.

Chief executive Boley Smillie said they were now ‘completely on top of things’ despite the setback of Condor’s freight-only vessel, Commodore Goodwill, being withdrawn from service last week with engine problems.

‘Even with all the travel disruption last week we received and delivered 56,000 parcels, which is a 9% increase on the same period last year,’ he said.

‘Black Friday and Cyber Monday offers have stretched out and it is now a week to 10 days of extended deals.
