Alternative model the only way for ‘Cinderella’ CoFE

EDUCATION’S plans to segregate students at 16 is wrong, the College of Further Education’s shadow board of governors has said, as it offers support to the alternative model.

The college ‘has been the Cinderella of education for years’, the board’s chairman Julian Winser said.

Of the two education models on the table, he said only the one worked up by Deputies Fallaize, Graham, Tooley and Dorey promised ‘real change’ and would secure the ‘excellent’ teaching resources needed to maximise opportunities for students.

‘While not all educational purists will fully agree with the detail, the significant majority of teaching staff agree it is the better, tried and tested educational option for Guernsey,’ he said.
