Herm stops boats from outside Bailiwick mooring at harbour
NO BOATS will be permitted to land on Herm from outside the Bailiwick until further notice.
A message has been issued to the Guernsey boating community saying the availability of moorings for boaters visiting Herm will be delayed until 30 April and reminded people that the moorings at Rosaire Steps are private.
‘We also request that boaters do not tie up at the harbour at this time so we can maintain access for Trident, service vessels and emergency boats.’
Anybody wishing to anchor has been told they may do so at their own risk.
‘Following directives from the States of Guernsey, we would like to reiterate that no boats will be permitted to land on Herm from outside the Bailiwick of Guernsey (Guernsey, Alderney and Sark) until further notice,’ they said.
‘We sincerely hope we will see a busy harbour and be able to welcome all boaters further into the season.’
The post followed the latest travel measures now put in place by the States of Guernsey, stating that anyone arriving on the island from anywhere outside of the Bailiwick of Guernsey will need to go into compulsory self-isolation for 14 days, regardless of any symptoms.
‘We would politely request that all visitors from outside Guernsey who have bookings in Herm accommodation up to 30 April 2020 please contact our reservations office between 9am and 5pm any day if you have any queries.
‘We should be most grateful if guests who have bookings from 1 May 2020 would kindly wait until we have issued any further statements.’
