Ben Falla will be heading to Nottingham to take on the ‘It’s Raining Bens’ challenge with the community Council of Bens, and has chosen Les Bourgs Hospice as the recipient of his fundraising.
‘The Council of Bens is a collective of Bens who have created a WhatsApp community after first forming at Boomtown Festival when a bunch of Bens went to see Baseline Ben,’ said Mr Falla.
‘The community has sub-topics for any interest and support groups such as ‘BentalHealth’ which has been a safe space for Bens to talk about their troubles and get advice from other Bens.’
He was at the original Ben meet-up at Boomtown and has been active in the community ever since.
The council holds a number of charity events including ‘It’s Raining Bens’ and climbing up Ben Nevis.
Each Ben gets to choose their own charity to fundraise for.
‘I haven’t been able to do the skydive for the last couple of years but this year I was able to and jumped at the chance as it’s something I’ve always wanted to do and raising money for charity at the same time is great,’ said Mr Falla.
‘Without any States funding I want to do my part to help this amazing and vital charity which is a vital part of our community.’
