The Guernsey Street Festival is back but is maintaining a presence for just one week, rather than the annual two-week affair.
The decision was made earlier this year to shorten the festival to one week due to reduced funding and lack of volunteers.
Running from 1 to 8 August, there will be live music, theatre, dancing, fancy dress and storytelling around town.
‘Even though the festival is running a week shorter this year, we’re just as committed to putting on a meaningful event that champions local talent. A huge thank you to the sponsors who continue to keep the festival alive each year. If you or your company would like to help us keep this tradition going, we’d be thrilled to hear from you,’ said street festival founder and chair Claire Dawson.
‘It’s been absolutely wonderful to witness the Market Square transform into the hub of life and vibrancy that it is now, and we’re excited to see how we can continue to operate in that space and provide entertainment to new audiences enjoying all the al fresco dining on offer.’
The street festival will run across the whole week apart from on Sunday.
