Guernsey hosts Channel Islands Pride every other year, with a Pride Parade through town followed by party in Market Square. But this year it will use a new location on Saturday 12 September.
‘This feels like a real step forward for Pride,’ said Ellie Jones, CEO of Liberate and organiser of Channel Islands Pride.
‘We’ve outgrown our previous site and wanted to create something that felt more like a festival while keeping everything that makes Channel Islands Pride so special. The bathing pools give us the opportunity to create different spaces, welcome even more people, and make the most of one of the most beautiful locations in Guernsey.’
‘Pride has always been about bringing people together,’ said Helen Bonner-Morgan, operations director at Vive La Vallette.
‘We are very excited about having Pride here at La Vallette and can’t wait to share what we’ve all been working on.’
Entertainment includes singer Angie Brown, drag performer Elle Vosque, tribute acts to Chappell Roan and Jimmy Somerville, and a performance from the Lavender Choir, Jersey’s LGBTQ+ choir, alongside local artists.
The Pride Village will feature a silent disco, a family zone, community stalls, and food and drink vendors.
The parade starts from the Pride steps in Market Square at 2pm, heading to the bathing pools, where entertainment runs until 9pm. Entry is free.
