Guernsey ready to take on South Africa
'WE HAVE everything to gain and nothing to lose'. That is the view of Gill Queripel as her Guernsey sides prepare to host the might of South Africa tonight in a historic set of unofficial 'test' matches at the Indoor Cricket Centre.
In the middle of their three-match test series with England, the over-30s mixed and women's teams from the southern hemisphere giants are in the island for a whistle-stop visit.
But they are playing four games tonight, ranging across both the 'sixes' and 'sevens' format of the fast-paced game that is still new to Guernsey netballers.
After already securing three of the four series on offer against England after just two of the three tests played in each in Bristol, the visitors will naturally enter as huge favourites tonight.
However, Guernsey coach Queripel, who is also involved with the coaching of the England teams who were in action at the weekend, is adamant that the Sarnians will rise to the challenge.
