Chalmers and Guernsey Ladies Rugby among big winners

After a couple of near misses in past years, it was finally celebration time for the Guernsey Ladies rugby team at last night’s Guernsey Sports Commission awards night at Beau Sejour, landing the team trophy after their title-winning 2016-17 season.

Other major award winners included boxer Billy Le Poullain and lawn bowler Lucy Beere, while the No. 1 award - the Guernsey Sports Commission Trophy - was retained by athlete Cameron Chalmers, who is in New Zealand training.
