The Barracudas star is currently studying at Loughborough University and swimming on the development programme at their performance centre.

With only a few weeks left in the Island Games qualifying period, Tostevin was off to compete at the Scottish Nationals in Edinburgh with the aim of securing her place for Guernsey 2023.

The 19-year-old showed just why she has already competed at two Commonwealth Games by lowering her own marks in both the 50m and 100m backstroke.

In the 50m event, she finished her heat ranked 11th overall and so qualified for the B final, which she went on to win and edge down her Island record to 28.61sec.

She placed ninth in the 100m heats, narrowly missing the A final, but went on to place second in the B final with another record time of 1-01.60.
