Having fallen behind at Victoria Park, GFC turned things around quickly as Hedley raced to her first hat-trick inside the opening 25 minutes.

The visitors pulled goals back to reduce the deficit to 3-2 and 4-3 either side of the break, but Hedley’s finishing proved decisive as Guernsey stretched their advantage in front of a crowd of more than 550.

Captain Candice Bougourd fired home a seventh from the spot before two late strikes from Wimborne completed the scoring in a competitive encounter in Southern Region Women’s Football League Division One South.

Anna Gauvain’s Guernsey side now face back-to-back away games before returning to Victoria Park to face Andover New Street, who won 5-0 on the opening weekend, on Sunday 28 September.
