VANDALS have been condemned for their 'mindless stupidity' after pouring mysterious paint-stripping 'slime' over the bonnet of three cars.

Neighbours have hit out at the overnight attack on the cars in the normally quiet, private estate Le Rond L'Islet, Sandy Hook, St Sampson's.

The thick green liquid – which neighbours have been told could have been a heavy-duty cleaner – has caused hundreds of pounds of damage, including blistering and the removal of paint work.

One of the victims was Aldwyn Le Cocq, pictured, whose new Skoda Yeti was targeted. Her husband, Paul Le Cocq, condemned the attack: 'It is like the guys spray painting the skate park – it is mindless stupidity,' he said.

'There will have to be a total re-spray of the bonnet and there may be other work. It depends how far it worked down into other parts, like the grill.'

The 67-year-old retired trust accountant said his wife only noticed damage to her car when she headed out to pilates on Wednesday morning. He said their neighbours, a mother and daughter, were also targeted in the random attack.

Police officers want to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the attack, which occurred sometime between 6pm on Tuesday and 7.30am on Wednesday morning.
