GUERNSEY is to feature in an episode of the BBC’s Escape To The Country, the BBC’s daytime show which helps house buyers who want to swap city living for a life in the country, or in this case the coast.

The island is already receiving favourable publicity through the social media accounts of Nicki Chapman, one of the presenters, who visited to film for the programme.

She has posted three times on her Instagram account @nickichappers about her visit to the island, each one with compliments about Guernsey.

The first reel showed her walking towards the camera on Pembroke. As well there is a still at Saints Bay.

‘First time on this enchanting island for me, certainly won’t be my last’, she wrote.

The next day she filmed herself strolling through the shallows at Fermain.

She commented: ‘There’s a lovely little beach cafe in the bay, which serves the best crab sandwiches. Def worth a visit.’

And then on Saturday, she is photographed at Fermain and also making salted caramel ice cream at Le Hechet Farm.

Like many first-time visitors she had problems finding her way around – ‘sat nav was another story’ – but then says ‘couldn’t recommend this island enough’.

She goes on to say: ‘Not sure why I’d never considered it before as a weekend get away break.’

She also gives a name check to Raymond Evison’s clematis vinery and ‘the famous Guernsey cows’.

No viewing date is available for the programme, but Escape To The Country is currently on Monday and Tuesday afternoons in the UK.
