The local airline has been awarded a multi-year extension to its public service obligation contract for Alderney.
To improve resilience, Aurigny has teamed up Skybus – the airline of the Isles of Scilly Steamship Company – which will provide aircraft, maintenance, crew training and insurance to Aurigny.
From 1 November two DHC6-300 Twin Otter aircraft will operate in Aurigny colours and the Dornier pilots will be provided with the opportunity to re-train to operate the new Twin Otters, or transition onto ATRs.

Skybus will also provide replacement aircraft from within its fleet to cover periods of maintenance, and Aurigny will continue to provide Dornier capacity until the end of the year.
Aurigny chief executive Nico Bezuidenhout said the new air service model was a win-win for the Bailiwick.
‘It strengthens Alderney’s vital air links with more resilience in the fleet while also delivering better long-term value – helping to secure the future of these vital air services for our communities,’ he said.
Skybus managing director Jonathan Hinkles said he was looking forward to combining the experience and capability of Skybus and Aurigny to provide a dependable service for Alderney.
Meanwhile, Aurigny’s winter schedules have been announced.
The flights up to 25 March 2026 are now available to book.
They include Grenoble services in February, Paris services over the winter and Edinburgh Christmas services.
