From Tuesday 1 September fees will rise for a standard adult passport, which lasts 10 years, from £107 to £115.50. A child's five-year passport will cost £80, up from £74 currently.
But a new online passport application service is due to be launched in November 2026. And when that service goes live, the States said applicants will benefit from 'a reduced fee’, but it has not yet said how much.
Until the service launches, all applications must continue to be submitted using the existing paper-based process.
Standard passport applications are currently taking about two weeks to process.
Some immigration fees will also increase from 1 September, all based on current equivalent fees charged by the UK Home Office. The changes affect a number of leave to remain application categories, including indefinite leave to remain. Work permit fees will remain unchanged.
A full schedule of fees can be found at gov.gg/Immigration.
The New Jetty Passport Office is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8.45 to 12pm and Tuesday and Thursday from 12-4pm. Passport application forms are also available from various collection points around the island.
