The holders eased past Sonning 9-2 at Footes Lane in the second round on Saturday, but their next opponents also ran riot in their tie over the weekend, beating Bridgwater 9-1.

That was just the latest win in what has been a perfect start to the season for City of Bath, who sit top of the Davis Wood Hockey League Championship with seven wins out of seven.

'It is going to be our toughest game so far – on paper they are one of the best teams in the competition,' said Guernsey player-coach Andy Whalley.

'It is disappointing to be away because these are the games you want at home and obviously we all wanted a home draw because days like last Saturday are fantastic to play in, but we are used to travelling and we will prepare ourselves in the right way.

'At the end of the day, you have got to beat the best teams in there if you want to win the competition, whether it be in the quarters, semis, final or third round.'
