And Guernsey-based fans will be able to watch a live-stream of the match from Springfield.

The new four-island competition, which being staged for the first time in Jersey this weekend, sees two semi-finals today – with other pitting the Isle of Man against the Isle of Wight this afternoon – and a third-placed play-off and final tomorrow.

Guernsey pulled off a shock 2-0 win at Springfield earlier this year and coach Katie Watson said that they were looking forward to facing the old foe again.

‘Obviously we had a fantastic result against them in the Muratti, but both teams will probably look quite different from the teams that were playing in May,’ she said.

‘Jersey had a couple of players who have retired and with it being the summer holidays, we’ve got a few people away, so I think both teams will look very different, but it will still be that same Guernsey-Jersey rivalry that we’re looking forward too.’

CHERRY GODFREY CUP SCHEDULE

Semi-final 1: Isle of Man v Isle of Wight (Friday, 5pm)

Semi-final 2: Jersey v Guernsey (Friday, 8pm)

Third-place play-off (Saturday, 10am)

Final (Saturday, 3pm)

The Guernsey squad sees recalls for former captain Joelle Priaulx, Jo Wheatley, Jess Parsons-Page and Watson herself, who last played for the island in the 2022 Muratti final.

There are also likely to be a few debutants, including former Alderney schoolgirl Heidi Dawber. She broke a leg about a year ago and missed out in May.

‘She would have been in line to come and be a part of the Muratti squad in May but this is now an opportunity for her to come in and play some games for us,’ said Watson.

Watson has said that there was a lot of excitement in the group ahead of the weekend, and it will provide the team with a good opportunity for them to play some competitive fixtures.

‘It’s going to happen now every time there is not an Island Games, so you know there’s just more competitive fixtures from a representative point of view, so it gives the girls more opportunity to play which is what we want to give them,’ she said.
