Headington, who won eight Inter-Insular caps as a classy all-rounder, is an experienced leader in both business and sport and will take responsibility for operational management of Guernsey Cricket, overseeing domestic and representative cricket, driving strategic growth, and strengthening the sport’s commercial and community engagement.
‘Cricket has been a defining part of my life, and I am committed to helping the sport grow and thrive in Guernsey,’ he said.
‘My focus will be on strengthening the domestic game, supporting our representative sides, and building strong relationships with stakeholders, sponsors, and the wider community.’
This appointment is part of a leadership transition within Guernsey Cricket, with Carl Brooks stepping away from his position as Chief Executive Officer.
Brooks will continue to play a key role in the organisation, taking on the new position of Administrator for Domestic Cricket, where he will focus on overseeing the local game.
Guernsey Cricket chairman Carl Johnson said they were delighted to have Headington on board as new COO.
‘His leadership skills, strategic insight, and passion for cricket make him the ideal person to drive Guernsey Cricket forward,’ Johnson said.
