Some 30,000 cadets were involved across the country, including 201 Overseas Squadron Guernsey, which was one of about 1,000 participating squadrons.

Focal points of the day were today’s 77th anniversary of the forming of the Air Training Corps, which became the Royal Air Force Cadets, and the 2018 Centenary of the Royal Air Force.

Royal Air Forces’ Association president Alan Brunger addressed cadets who lined up at the Allied Air Crew Memorial at Guernsey Airport before Air Cadets Padre. the Rev. David Knight, conducted a short ceremony.

Sergeant Kurt Carre led the cadets as they marched from the western end of the airport forecourt to line up at the memorial.
